Spanish whites are a hidden gem in our opinion! The most famous white wine in Spain comes from the Rueda wine-growing region namely verdejo, and is similar to sauvignon in that it’s a light crisp acidic white.
White Rioja is made from Viura (also known as Macabeo) and can be oaked adding caramel notes or unoaked producing a fresh alternative to Sauvignon. Vina Hermosa (unoaked) or Abando are our best sellers.
Finally and not to be missed is the famous Albarino grape from Rias Baixas or Galician Godello. The grapes is noted for its distinctive aroma, and is a great Spanish alternative if you are a Pinot Grigio fan.
