Red Wine

Red wines are often labelled as Joven, Crianza, Reserva or Gran Reserva. Joven meaning young or little/no oak. In Rioja and the Ribera del Duero, Crianza wines are two years old, with at least twelve months spent in cask (elsewhere the oak ageing just six months). Reservas are three years old (at least one year in cask), Gran Reservas five years old (two in cask, three in bottle).

The main grape is Tempranillo, although we stock Mencia, Garnacha, Monastrell to name but a few, and all our Reds are a minimu of DO classification which is the highest classification in Spain granted. We import from both traditional and boundary pushing vineyards to ensure our list is eclectic enough to suit every pallet.
